Explaining Why American Citizen Alex Pretti Was Shot in the Back of the Head Live on Camera by US Agents

- A Radical Dispatch

1) The Established Facts

The defining image of the killing of US citizen Alex Pretti came in the form of a video-still taken from phone camera footage at the scene.

Predictably, this image has caused global outrage. So potent is the symbolism that some commentators are scrambling to declare it a fake, in the hopes that it doesn’t destroy their desired momentum for continued mass deportations.

Unfortunately for these commentators, the image is very real.

Time Magazine did not actually publish this cover. Regardless, the Ai enhanced photo used on this imaginary Time Magazine cover of Alex Pretti poisons the well. As the Twitter ‘Readers Notes’ below it say, there exists a real image that it is based on.

That original image should have been used. The real image is shown below:

The kneeling officer’s head is partially black in the image because he is wearing a balaclava. This is our own screen-grabbed image from a video compilation made using multiple angles, with a time stamp remaining so the reader may see for themselves.

Here is the video compilation that the real image is taken from. Watch it carefully.

As this video compilation clearly shows, Alex Pretti - a US citizen on US soil, was disarmed and shot in the back of the head by US government agents live on camera.

This occurred after his own legally concealed and undrawn SIG-Sauer p320 standard military issue pistol was removed from his person while he was being restrained.

Pretti’s weapon was then - for reasons not yet clear - discharged at the scene while in the right hand of the disarming federal agent, who was in a grey jacket.

This discharge caused other restraining agents to assume that Alex Pretti had fired his own gun while they were attempting to subdue him. That led to those agents killing Alex Pretti by shooting him in the back of the head while he was kneeling on the ground, unarmed.

Watch the video in full. It leaves little room for doubt. The killing of Alex Pretti was not within protocol.

2) The Criminal Investigation

The fact that the only time Alex Pretti’s gun was fired is while it was in possession of a federal agent is either an accident, or a serious criminal offence. This was caught on multiple cameras from the scene, and depicted clearly in the video compilation provided above. As such, it must be subject to criminal investigation.

No amount of wishful thinking can remove the inconvenient fact that when an officer fires a deceased suspect’s gun at a crime scene, there must be an investigation.

Excuses being made that Pretti may have had another weapon on him do not materially change the only relevant question: why did a federal agent appear to be the only one to fire Alex Pretti’s weapon after taking it from him?

3) Civil Unrest Against Trump Before Mid-Terms is the Aim

If it is established that something was not right in the killing of Alex Pretti, what remains is to understand the wider picture.

What we are alleging is that the aim is to cause widespread civil unrest in America so that Trump loses control of Congress and is impeached after the mid-term elections, so that Vice President JD Vance is able to replace him.

The below is our immediate reaction on socials to Alex Pretti’s tragic death.

In truth, this is an operation to destabilise Trump’s presidency.

Alex Pretti was known to federal agents as a serial radicalised protestor, and footage from a week prior establishes this fact.

Filmed on January 13th in Minneapolis, showing a man who appears to be Alex Pretti interacting with federal immigration agents eleven days before Border Patrol shot and killed him. Our footage was analysed by the BBC, whose facial recognition technology confirmed his identity to a 97% degree of accuracy. On the morning of January 13th, our team received a tip that federal agents were blocking a street at the corner of East 36 and Park Avenue, in Minneapolis. We arrived around 10.15am. We saw observers shouting at the agents as they walked back to their vehicles. When they started driving away, the man kicked their tail light. An agent then got out of the vehicle, grabbed him, and pushed him to the ground. During the altercation, agents fired tear gas and pepper balls into the crowd. They continued to hold the man down before they retreat and he walks away. The man in our footage is wearing a similar outfit to what Pretti was wearing on the day he was killed. What appears to be a gun is also visible above his waistband. Here, he continues to stand at the scene. On the day he was killed, the Department of Homeland Security claims Pretti, a 37-year-old ICU nurse, approached officers holding a handgun. That claim has been contradicted by analysis of bystander videos from multiple news investigations which concluded that Pretti was holding a phone, not a gun, when he was pinned to the street. Shortly after the altercation we filmed here on January 13th, federal agents drove away. Soon after that, we left the scene.

As for organised elements among hard-left agitators, their involvement in this destabilisation operation is no longer in much doubt.

The New York Post reports 26th Jan 2026:

A coordinated web of encrypted chats, street alerts and tracking of ICE ‘Abductors’ in a sophisticated database reviewed by Fox News Digital shows that agitators were already mobilized at the scene where 37-year-old Alex Pretti was killed minutes before any shots were fired. ICE and Border Patrol agents were there to arrest an illegal immigrant criminal, and Pretti and others were there, outside a donut shop, to meet them as part of a strategic pattern of organized interference with law enforcement operations. Over the following hours, a national network of socialist, communist and Marxist-Leninist cells in the United States leveraged the tragic fatality into a nationwide protest operation…This level of engineered chaos is unique to Minneapolis. It is the direct consequence of far left agitators, working with local authorities,’ Vice President JD Vance observed in a Sunday post on X.

Here is an image of the closed signal groups protestors were using.

In fact, such is the level of organisation on the ground in Minneapolis that Special Forces observers have come to the conclusion that it has reached insurgency levels.

We spent many years both laying the ideological foundations for - and then helping on the mitigation against - the global jihadist insurgency that former Special Forces warrant officer Eric Schwalm describes above.

What he has said resonates. There do appear to be forces working to organise radicalised factions into a coordinated effort inside Minneapolis, and this support clearly seems to involve both front-line trained factions and the local state apparatus.

However, by far the largest lesson learned from the period he described was,
’you cannot fight your way out of an insurgency.’

Radicalised responses beget radicalised responses. Those who provoke the civil war narrative in America do so in order to trigger the chaos required to usher in the securitised responses needed to build out Palantir and Peter Thiel’s desired globalist technocracy.

They don’t care which ‘side’ wins, because the house wins.

Playing up the civil war in Minneapolis by encouraging both sides to continue goading their supporters into further escalating violence, only harms the incumbent, which is President Trump. And that is the point. They want JD Vance in power.

Here is JD Vance positioning himself as a reasonable voice among the chaos.

Click to play:

Vice President JD Vance: “…from here to Minneapolis where we’re going to talk with some of our ICE agents talk with local officials about how we can turn down the chaos and my simple piece of advice to them is going to be: look, if you want to turn down the chaos in Minneapolis stop fighting immigration enforcement and accept that we have to have a border in this country it’s not that hard. If you look all across our country, what’s happened in Minneapolis is happening almost nowhere else in the United States of America. And that’s because whether it’s in Texas or Tennessee, it’s in red states, it’s in blue cities, even within our country, most people are cooperating with the simple principle that we ought to be able to enforce our immigration laws and get illegal criminals the hell out of the United States of America. It’s really not that complicated, but in a few distinct cities you see this craziness because the far left has decided that the United States of America shouldn’t have a border anymore, and they are willing to fight and penalise and dox and even assault our law enforcement officers, in order to fight for the basic principle that anybody ought to be able to come into the United States of America. Well, I’ll tell you right now, the Trump administration, we reject that. We are going to get illegal criminals out of our country, and we’re not going to let a few left-wing radicals stop us.

This is the context in which President Obama’s intervention must be read.

It is a trap.

This operation to destabilise Trump’s term before the mid-terms requires not just progressive agitators on the ground, but relies on state overreaction too.

Here is JD Vance agreeing with Miller’s reckless intervention.

Likewise, FBI Director Kash Patel took a similar hardline too.

Click to play:

FBI Director Kash Patel: “As Kristi said, you cannot bring a firearm loaded with multiple magazines to any sort of protest that you want. It’s that simple. You don’t have that right to break the law and incite violence. We will, of course, always protect your First Amendment speech. And if you peacefully protest, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But you have seen a trend here, not just in Minnesota, but across the country in these protests turning into violent scenarios and people attacking law enforcement. That’s when you go over the line, and that’s when law enforcement steps in.

Again, the Twitter ‘Readers Notes’ had to step in to correct the Director of the FBI.

As did the National Association for Gun Rights.

Even right wing symbol for armed protest, Kyle Rittenhouse decided to weigh in against the government line.

By this time, thankfully, Trump had gotten the memo and started to deescalate.

4) Trump Deescalates

Realising that he would gain nothing and lose everything by unconditionally championing the killing of Alex Pretti, Trump did not take the bait. Instead, he deescalated.

The White House began by placing some clear blue water between the president’s position and that of his Secretary for Homeland Security Kristi Noem, and his White House Advisor Stephen Miller.

Click to play:

Journalist: “Secretary Noem said Alex Pretti committed an act of ‘domestic terrorism’. Stephen Miller labeled Pretti a ‘domestic terrorist’. Does the president agree with them?

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt: “Look, as I’ve said, I have not heard the president characterise Mr. Pretti in that way. However, I have heard the president say he wants to let the facts and the investigation lead itself.

Trump then concluded a productive call with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.

All of this culminated in the President agreeing to move agents from Minneapolis and withdraw the controversial Border Patrol chief, Gregory Bovino.

The Times reports 27th January 2026:

“…President Trump announced that Tom Homan, the border tsar, would be sent to Minnesota to oversee ICE raids, effectively sidelining Bovino and Kristi Noem, the hardline homeland security secretary.

What had happened was by now clear.

Soon after this, Trump personally declined to support Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and White House Advisor Stephen Miller. Both had labelled Alex Pretti a “domestic terrorist”.

Evading these provocative and false descriptions, Trump instead described Pretti’s killing as a “very, very unfortunate incident” and that people would have to be “stupid” not to agree.

Here is video of Trump distancing himself from the reckless statements made by his Homeland Security officials…
