On Friday 29th July co-hosts Maajid Nawaz and Usman Raja hosted UK Head of the World Uyghur Congress Rahima Mahmut for our WARRIOR CREED livestream.
In this episode we discussed the history and plight of the ethnically Turkic Uyghur community in East Turkestan and China’s repression of their Muslim religious and cultural identity. We also discussed Rahima Mahmut and Maajid Nawaz’s collaboration during Nawaz’s successful 4-day silent hunger strike that eventually mandated a debate on the issue in the UK parliament.
