We introduce you here to a new service on Substack called Notes, which is already stirring up a storm.
Notes is essentially a Substack-based status update tool, used in a similar way to other social media platform status updates, as on Minds, facebook, Truth Social and Twitter.
Here’s an example of one of Maajid Nawaz’s recent status updates on Notes:
Apparently, if you’re Twitter and have been charging creators to use the premium blue-check service, rather than paying the creators for their content like Substack does, then the advent of Notes may be seen as a threat.
This is reportedly why Elon Musk initially blocked all Substack links on Twitter. Musk retreated on this after user outcry, but embedded tweets in Substack still remain blocked by him.
In true internet-wars fashion, Substack responded to Musk about his behaviour on their new platform itself, Notes:

As you see, Notes is a new free space on Substack for us to share links, short posts, quotes, photos, and more. We plan to use it just as we would use status updates on other platforms, more like a stream of consciousness.
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Radical Media - by Maajid Nawaz, you’ll automatically see our notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
