1) The Scam:

The MAGA movement has irrevocably turned against its Johnny-come-lately donor and Big Tech globalist Elon Musk. This came after Musk used Christmas day to promote a decidedly un-MAGA message of doubling legal migration to America from India via his platform Twitter.

The debate spiralled from there, consuming 5 days of online attention leading to a major mask-off meltdown moment for Musk, and culminating in what is a suspected terror attack using a tesla cyber truck outside Trump Tower in Las Vegas. Things will never go back to the day before Christmas for Musk’s relationship with MAGA.

Before summarising what happened, it is important to remember that it started only after Musk decided to torpedo the immigration debate, which is no-less than a defining core issue for MAGA.

Musk’s call seemed to woefully disregard how the H1-B visa process is being abused by globalists to apply downward pressure on domestic wages while attracting desperate foreign workers who will accept non-unionised, wage-slave conditions for jobs that would otherwise have to go to under-employed Americans with US labour rights and wage expectations.

The available data clearly demonstrate the downward pressure that legal immigration via the H1-B system has had on the domestic wage.

The rampant abuse of the H1-B visa system also occurs as third party outsourcing contractors interface with US tech firms that advertise jobs at market rates. These third party contractors then proceed to hire Indian - and they are overwhelmingly Indian - foreign workers at cheaper than the advertised wage rate, and pocket the difference as a commission. The loser here is once again the US worker.

So bad has the abuse become that a US jury recently found that the largest abuser of this H1-B system, Cognizant was discriminating against US workers.

Bloomberg reports 7th October 2024:

And contrary to what globalists will have you believe, the focus on India is not some unjustified obsession driven by racism or xenophobia. The focus is on India because India is overwhelmingly the country that is used as a source for this abuse of the US domestic labour market.

For Elon Musk then to resort to the tired and cliched trope of crying ‘racism’ in response to the online outrage caused by his insistence on doubling the abuse of H1-B, not curtailing it, only enraged the MAGA base even more.

This is a serious labour rights issue. Shame on those like Elon Musk who are disguising their penchant for naked globalist consumerism by crying ‘racism’ to scare off the real victims here: battered US domestic labour. Perhaps Musk knows this, but is simply too conflicted to care.

The National Pulse reports 1st January 2025:

“Reports from current and former employees, alongside U.S. Department of Labor data, reveal that Elon Musk’s Tesla has significantly augmented its H-1B visa requests to fill positions previously held by around 15,000 U.S. workers who were let go in April 2024. The layoffs were widespread across Tesla’s departments but were notably concentrated in Texas and California.”

Eventually, even the American left caught up with the scam that was H1-B.

But among those who spent the few days immediately after Musk’s Christmas meltdown standing firmly in his way was the original MAGA commentator and War Room host, Steve Bannon.

Steve Bannnon: “You're trashing of the MAGA movement. You're calling the MAGA movement racist? How dare you? The coalition now is starting to build. We have African-Americans and Hispanic families, African-American men, finally starting to red pill and awaken. And at that moment, you're going to throw the racism card out? Are you kidding me? You think we're going to tolerate that? We're not going to tolerate it. And I don't care in that regard, I don’t care how big a cheque you wrote.”

Bannon continued to summarise exactly what his issue was with the H1-B system.

Steve Bannon: “The reason they want to do it is they want to bring over indentured servants that don't have the rights of Americans. They want to bring them over here at lower wages, and they fire American citizens. And my whole point, the rot is in the engineering schools. Here's, instead of taking American citizens, African-Americans, Hispanics, white working class into these engineering schools, who are paying the, particularly the land-grant universities, like schools I went to, where they're paying the state tuition. They take the foreign students because the foreign governments are paying full freight. This is because these deadbeat professors, right, and their retirement program, their tenure, that's how they're paying for it. That's the gap. The whole thing, the entire thing from top to bottom is a total scam.”

This was a real mask-off moment for Musk. It will come as no surprise to regular readers of Radical Media that it came a mere two days after news broke that Blackrock invested billions into Musk’s AI venture.

The Mint reports 24th December 2024:

“Billionaire Elon Musk's artificial intelligence (AI) company on Monday, December 23, raised $6 billion from marquee investors like BlackRock, Nvidia Corp., and AMD, among others, to expand AI infrastructure, according to the company's official blog note posted on Monday.”

2) The Meltdown:

Musk should not have been surprised at the amount of push back that he received for suggesting doubling rather than halving legal immigration via H1-B. This is, after all, a core issue for MAGA.

A wise Musk would have sought to soothe tensions with MAGA instead of inflame them. Instead, the arrogant Musk doubled down by choosing to insult Trump’s base en masse.

This has resulted in a major rift developing between Big Tech and MAGA that is unlikely to heal any time soon. Fresh from memories of being labelled “deplorables” by Hilary Clinton and “garbage” by Democrats, how did Musk expect MAGA to react at being labelled “contemptible fools”?

Musk’s meltdown simply deteriorated from there. Such was the hubris that Musk threw a full online hissy-fit, telling one user directly to ‘F*CK YOURSELF’ in the face.

Prompting Bannon to mock him as requiring online child protective services.

Big Tech acolyte and Musk’s partner in Trump’s newly touted Department for Government Efficiency (DOGE) Obama Ramasmarmy waded in with just as insulting an angle, denigrating cultures that celebrate feminine and masculine ideals by advocating instead for celebrating rootless immigrant nerds.

Upon being pleaded with by Americans to open an engineering school if they truly believed there was an educational gap, Musk refused.

A reply best summarised by the below user’s frustration in meme form.

Unused to anything but the most sycophantic of interlocutors, Musk ended up entirely throwing his toys out of the pram, censoring, demonetising and even banning MAGA profiles that rallied against him on his own platform, thereby forever ruining his reputation as a free speech advocate.

Sky News reports 28th December 2024:

“Elon Musk is facing censorship accusations after prominent right-wing accounts claimed they lost access to premium features on X when they criticised his views on immigration. On Friday night, Musk called some anti-immigration Republicans ‘contemptible fools’, adding they were ‘hateful, unrepentant racists’ who would ‘absolutely be the downfall of the Republican Party if they are not removed’. At least 14 conservative accounts who criticised Musk's pro-legal immigration views said X revoked their blue tick, a verification badge given to premium account holders, according to Sky News' US partner NBC News.”

Among those affected was prominent MAGA commentator Lara Loomer.

Musk went on to effectively admit shadow-banning accounts by confirming that he used Twitter to promote views that he and his network endorsed, while de-boosting the accounts of those that ‘credible’ users disagree with.

The below summarises well what this means.

So much for Musk being a free speech champion.

Such was the level of anger, that it may even have spilled over to an act of terrorism, though this remains a matter of investigation.
