Revolution in Pakistan: National Lockdown & Internet Shut as Worldwide Protests Demand Jailed Anti-Globalist PM Imran Khan is Freed
- Plus WARRIOR CREED Podcast
1) Pakistan in revolt
Nationwide and global protests were launched by Pakistanis demanding the release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan who was ousted in 2022 and then jailed after he refused Biden’s demands to support Zelensky in the Ukraine war. Supporters had vowed not to disperse until Khan himself gives a speech at the rally.
The sheer scale of the protests, both inside Pakistan and around the world, indicate the stark division that has arisen between the masses of Pakistani people and the military that is running the country via its proxy governments.

No politician, political party or institution of Pakistan has been able to rally this many people in the country’s history. The protest convoys went as far back as the eye could see.

All were headed to Islamabad, the nation’s capital.

Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi had vowed not to call and end to these protests without securing the release of Imran Khan.

Also among the protestors was Imran Khan’s sister, who was eventually arrested while declaring “all of us came to be arrested today”.

“Supporters of Imran Khan are making their way to Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, demanding the release of the former Prime Minister who has been incarcerated for more than a year and is facing over a hundred cases related to a string of charges ranging from alleged corruption to terrorism. Tension began to increase after Khan issued a final call for his supporters to converge in Islamabad on November 24 to seek his release, amongst other demands. Authorities say they're ready to block the influx of protesters marching to the capital and have already arrested over 4,000 people, including key members of Klan's Pakistan Tahriki Insaf party. As PTI supporters crossed police checkpoints and bypassed barricades made of shipping containers to press on toward the city. The government responded with rubber bullets and tear gas and deployed thousands of police and paramilitary troops, warning that protesters would be dealt with with iron hands, with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi calling the protest unlawful. Internet access was also restricted, with the government saying an internet shutdown would be limited to specific high-risk areas. Will tensions in the country simmer in heat up or cool down?”
2) Ousted, shot & jailed: Khan and Trump share a fate
Ousted, shot and then jailed, Imran Khan’s fate seems to have mirrored President Trump’s, who went through a similar cycle after he too was deposed from power in the rigged 2020 US elections.
Radical Media has followed these events as they unfolded. Here is video of Khan being shot.

In this Radical Dispatch from July 2024 after Trump was shot, we noted the similarities immediately.
These observations led us - a year ago to the very day these fresh protests were launched in Pakistan - to observe that the fates of anti-globalist leaders Trump, Farage and Khan are intertwined.
3) The Pakistani regime’s response
The military regime and its proxy government in Pakistan responded viciously to these historic and unprecedented nationwide popular protests. Initial claims were made that it was just the capital that had been affected:
Al-Jazeera reports 24th November 2024:
Al-Jazeera reports 24th November 2024:
“Pakistan’s capital has been placed under a security lockdown to prevent supporters of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan from marching to Islamabad as part of the nationwide protests to seek his release.”
But later, multiple reports confirmed that in fact the entire country had been placed into lockdown.

Broadcaster: “Live from Islamabad, so the city is in lockdown ahead of those protests. What are you expecting?”
Correspondent: “Well, it's not just the city which is in lockdown. In fact, all Pakistan highways, that's the motorway system, the Grand Trunk Road, which is the arterial connection from north to south, all blocked. The government, of course, is saying that it's for maintenance. But it can't be a coincidence because they're also putting containers, they're digging trenches, and they've deployed tens of thousands of policemen, paramilitary forces to stop those marchers. In fact, many people in Pakistan are saying that if a leader who's in jail can mobilise this many people, while he's still incarcerated, what would be the result if he was to come out? Now, he's not coming out, obviously, because although the lawyers were expecting that he should be released after the court granted him bail in the ‘state gifts’ case. He, of course, is now facing more cases. There's one on anti-terrorism. He's likely to be indicted tomorrow. But his call for protest has brought the country to a virtual standstill…”
As the later arrested sister of Imran Khan had posted, the entire country was placed into lockdown.
Protestors breached the barriers regardless and continued to the capital city, Islamabad.
Time Magazine reports 26th November 2024:
“Supporters seeking the release of imprisoned Pakistani former premier Imran Khan on Tuesday broke through a ring of shipping containers locking down the capital Islamabad, while at least six people have died in protest-related violence. Protesters battled security forces and ignored a government threat to respond with gunfire...”
In desperation, the regime cut off internet access.
Turkiye Today reports 24th November 2024:
Turkiye Today reports 24th November 2024:
“Pakistan‘s Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that mobile data and internet services will remain suspended in areas with heightened security risks during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest…A spokesperson clarified that the shutdown will be confined to high-risk zones, ensuring regular internet and mobile services elsewhere in the country. However, activists claim that internet blackouts are countrywide and affect the country’s majority.”
The country’s ruling military faction, via their proxy interior minister Mohsin Naqvi, refused to countenance any suggestion of negotiations with the PTI leadership.
